At B-Logistics, we like to think that every book finds a home. After it has given its life as a book, it can become any number of useful products - kitty litter, home insulation, cardboard for packaging, etc.
Each ton (2,000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4,000 kilowatts of energy, and 7,000 gallons of water. This represents a 64%, a 58% water savings, and 60 pounds less air pollution. The same 17 saved trees can absorb 250 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air each year.
Over its lifetime B-Logistics has re-used and recycled more than 20,000,000 pounds of books. That is more than 170,000 trees, 3.8 million gallons of oil, 40 million kilowatts of energy, and 70 million gallons of water saved!
